Ian Weldon – Founding Attorney

Personal Background
Mr. Weldon was born and raised in New York before moving to Chicago with his family where he attended the University of Illinois as a scholar-athlete on the men’s swimming and track teams. In 1995, he moved to Jacksonville and attended law school at the Florida State College of Law. He also received his master’s in business administration from the University of Florida and his master’s in accounting from the University of North Florida.
Professional Experience
Mr. Weldon is a compassionate, bilingual (Spanish-speaking) trial attorney with over a decade of experience working at the Jacksonville Public Defender’s office. There, he focused on high-profile homicide and death penalty cases, bringing a strong background in business to complex cases.
Helping The Community
Mr. Weldon is very involved with the legal community, specifically the immigration law community. He is a member of several legal organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He was named by The National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers, has earned a 10.0 Superb rating on Avvo in the area of Criminal Defense, and has received the prestigious AV Preeminent® Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, its top peer-review rating.
Home & Family
Mr. Weldon is happily married to his wife, Alicia, and together they are raising four daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, spending time with his family, and rooting for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
