Before opening his own firm, Ian Weldon spent over a decade at the Jacksonville Public Defender’s Office, where he handled serious felony cases, including homicides and death penalty trials. He also brings a strong financial background to his legal work, with both an MBA from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Florida. Ian Weldon was born in New York and raised in Chicago, where he attended the University of Illinois as a scholar-athlete in both swimming and track. He later earned his law degree from Florida State College of Law before settling in Jacksonville.

He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has been named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers. Ian and Alicia are raising four daughters in Jacksonville, where family and faith remain at the center of their lives.
