Attorney Ian Weldon is an accomplished attorney in Jacksonville and the founder of Weldon Law Group, PLLC. He brings over 12 years of legal experience to his private practice, where he assists clients with all types of complex immigration law issues, criminal defense matters, divorce and family law cases, and estate planning and probate proceedings. With every case, Mr. Weldon works tirelessly to help his clients navigate the legal process. Because he went through the immigration process with his wife, who is Peruvian, he is very sympathetic to those navigating this complex and ever-changing system.
Mr. Weldon was born and raised in New York before moving to Chicago with his family where he attended the University of Illinois as a scholar-athlete on the men’s swimming and track teams. In 1995, he moved to Jacksonville and attended law school at the Florida State College of Law. He also received his master’s in business administration from the University of Florida and his master’s in accounting from the University of North Florida.
Mr. Weldon is a compassionate, bilingual (Spanish speaking) trial attorney with over a decade of experience working at the Jacksonville Public Defender’s office. There, he focused on high-profile homicide and death penalty cases, bringing a strong background in business to complex cases.
Mr. Weldon is very involved with the legal community, specifically the immigration law community. He is a member of several legal organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Weldon is happily married to his wife, Alicia, and together they are raising four daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, spending time with his family, and rooting for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
